Biography

Dr. Achilles Kalnoky was born in Prague, Czech Republic to a Greek mother and Hungarian father and when he was young his family emigrated to the United States settling in New Jersey. His love of travel and adventure brought him back to Prague after high school for medical school. Upon completion of his medical studies he practiced in the United Kingdom and later returned to the U.S. to complete a residency in Family Medicine at Central Michigan University in Saginaw, Michigan. Spending three long winters in Michigan convinced Dr. Kalnoky to move to sunny Florida after graduation. But he did take one long detour, working as a family doctor in New Zealand before finally making Sarasota his new home.

Dr. Kalnoky is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Florida State University Medical School. He lives with his wife Farah, a Physician Assistant and their three young children. In his spare time he enjoys the beautiful Florida beaches, travel, biking, tennis, kayaking and scuba diving. He is also a violinist with the Tampa Bay Symphony performing with the orchestra throughout the year.
